BTS: The Making of a Real Estate Music Video

Ever wonder what goes on behind every listing video we make?

People ask a lot of questions about our videos. How do you come up with the ideas? How long does it take? Why do you do them? And so on.

First the ideas. They don’t always come easy. Usually, it is an aspect of the home that sparks the idea. Like a condo, we sold with unit number 1007 which quickly became the James Bond 007 Condo. Or a townhouse that could be purchased for the same price as a condo became a song “Townhouse for a Condo Price”. Some are just simple walk-throughs and others are taking advantage of things in the community like eating in a local restaurant, catching bass, or swimming in a lake…. always in a suit of course.

How Much Time Does It Take? Some videos can be filmed in less than an hour. Others have taken up to 5 hours just to film. But before all of the filming comes walking through the property, brainstorming, writing scripts, making up lyrics, and sometimes recording songs. This process can take hours if not days to come up with. I would say on average each video takes about 5 hours to come up with the idea and record it. Then it is up to our videographer to edit.

Why does your team do them? The main reason we create videos is to get more attention to our listings. We want to provide unique marketing for your home that goes beyond what other realtors are doing. Second, it is how we as a team separate ourselves from every other realtor out there. Last, we enjoy creating them. I love to create and I want to bring a level of fun to my job and to life. If I can make you smile, keep your attention, have you remember our listings, visit our open house and sell the home for the best contract possible, then it is mission accomplished. Life is short, enjoy what you do.
