Mistakenly Buy The Exorcist House? Oh Yes, They did!

The Exorcist

The Exorcist is a 1973 American supernatural horror film directed by William Friedkin and written for the screen by William Peter Blatty, based on his 1971 novel of the same name.

I think all of us know about the Exorcist steps in Georgetown, but did you know that the actual house where the “possessed” child lived that spawned the movie is in Prince Georges County? I didn’t.

Well, neither did the buyers that just purchased the property in 2020. The housing market has been insane with buyers writing contracts on multiple houses before they find “the one”. So, you can understand how some research and details could be overlooked. After all, there are no disclosure laws for hauntings, possessions, or murders. You must do that research yourself.

Unfortunately, the couple did their research after they purchased the home and found out that they, in fact, purchased the one and only Exorcist house. However, the couple took it all in stride and doesn’t worry much about it, saying, the demons “did not convey with the house.” But the hardcore Exorcist fans do show up for visits.
